Travis Scott wins BET I Am Hip Hop Award 

Travis Scott is set to be honored with the I Am Hip Hop Award at the upcoming 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, scheduled for October 15.

BET has officially announced that the Houston-born rapper will receive this prestigious accolade. In a statement, the awards organizers praised Scott as "a visionary artist who continuously pushes the boundaries of music, culture, and live performance." They highlighted his exceptional creativity and unwavering passion, noting that he has redefined what it means to be a compelling and inspiring entertainer in the hip-hop genre. The organization expressed excitement about celebrating his contributions at the event.

In addition to the award, Scott is nominated in six categories, including Song of the Year for his track "FE!N." Throughout 2024, he has been a dominant presence on the charts, achieving three top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 with Future and Metro Boomin's "Type S**t," "Cinderella," and "Nee-Nah" featuring 21 Savage. Recently, he also reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 with his re-released 2014 mixtape, Days Before Rodeo, which soared to number one after its vinyl edition was shipped to fans.

Leading the nominations for the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards is Megan Thee Stallion, who received 12 nods. Among the nominees for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year are Stallion, Cardi B, GloRilla, Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, Drake, Future, and Kendrick Lamar.
